Terrorists are destroying our banking system!

Filed under: Uncategorized — duncan @ 10:28 am

The greatest existential threat to our existence:

Imagine this: a ticking nuclear bomb is about to go off in a major European city. You can only stop it by seizing the assets of all Icelandic companies operating in the UK. Can you honestly say you wouldn’t do it?

Some Terrorists.

  1. I really don’t know why we just don’t invade Iceland. Even if you look at in terms of destruction of human life, Iceland only has a population of 321, 000 and given that we’ve managed over 1 million violent deaths is Iraq and got very little to show for it, surely that would make sense to any accountant worth his salt? Perhaps if people had employed more straightforward cost-benefit analysis in the last few years we wouldn’t be in this sorry mess. It’s just common sense.

  2. What pisses me off is these global-warming tree-huggers. If only we’d ratched up carbon emissions a little more, Iceland would probably have melted by now, and we wouldn’t be under attack.

  3. What riles me, to be honest, is that very little thought was given to how geology informs national character. All countries on fault lines and in areas of geological activity are inherently unreliable. My advice would be ‘do not invest your money in any parts of the earth’s crust that are constantly breaking apart, spewing lather and shaking’. It’s just common sense, isn’t it?

  4. I am burning all my Sigur Rós albums in protest.

This is problematic, as they’re all on my hard-drive as MP3s, but the sacrifice is worth it to show these terrorists that we will not be cowed by their geothermal energy, ethereal melodies and cured shark-based cuisine.

  5. I say we lock up all these roast puffin eatin’ terrorists for 42 days. They have attacked our country by making mums unsure where to shop.

  6. Have to say, you should all tune in to AlJazeera over at They have the most pessimistic pundits ever. Last week, Paulson was subjected to the Godwin’s Law treatment. It’s brilliant.

  7. I’m totally down with the4 invasion of Iceland. New Labour, I thought, had pulled every page there was to pull out of Maggie Thatcher’s book. I never thought of the Falkland Islands!
This is utterly brilliant, besides which, God is on the UK side. As is well known, the Icers (unfortunately, it is too early in the game to call them something properly denigrating and racist, as … uh, nobody has ever cared to come up with such a name. Surely, Praxis, your contribution to this just war might be in holding a contest to come up with a name for these terrorist edda writing sons of bitches!) have to be stopped now, or you will be fighting them in the streets of London!
